Pricing & Packages

I currently offer both 1 and 1.5 hour outdoor portrait sessions starting at $475. I do offer a reduced rate for those willing to visit the Napa Valley for their portrait session. Packages include continuous photographic coverage, 30+ hi-resolution JPEG files with print release (no water markings). Professional retouching & editing on all images uploaded to a private online photo gallery to share with friends and family.

What types of portrait services do you offer?

I currently offer outdoor engagement sessions, family portraits, individual portraits, and surprise engagement proposal sessions.

Scheduling & time of day.

I typically recommend scheduling your outdoor portrait session within 3 hours of sunrise or 2-3 hours of sunset when the sun is low in the sky for the most flattering, diffuse light possible and to avoid squinting, and deep shadows caused by harsh direct overhead light. Accommodations can be made for outdoor sessions that are scheduled outside of this window but may require an additional lighting assistant. I’m not comfortable with poses, do you help with poses?

The short answer is yes, I will help you with various traditional poses during your session. I will always welcome your input as well if you have some poses you would like to try or if you’ve seen a pose in other photographs that you would like to replicate, I’m all for it!

What should I wear?

• Solid colors, avoid clothing with tight patterns, reflective material, logos, text, or branding.

• Avoid matching colors with your partner, family or group.

• Hair: Don’t forget it may be windy! For outdoor sessions, especially along the coast, it may be windy so please be prepared for this.

Do we get all of the unedited images?

To preserve the quality standards of Jack Simpson Photography, no alternate/unedited/RAW or b-roll photographs will be provided to the Client upon request. All photographs that accurately represent the quality standards of Jack Simpson Photography will be delivered to the Client in full - on average a 1-hour portrait session yields about 30-50 final delivered images.

When will we receive our photos?

2 weeks after the photoshoot, you'll receive a link to your password-protected online gallery.
